Fe360b material is a steel whose name indicates the composition that characterizes it. Fe360b steel is an alloy composed of iron and carbon, the latter in a percentage not higher than 2.06%. This type of material generally indicates iron, which is different from other types of steel for strength and hardness.

In the old designation (10025 of 1990) this type of steel indicated with the initials fe360b, which establishes the tensile strength. With the recent regulation (EN 10027-1 and ECISS IC 10 of the current standard UNI EN ISO 10025: 2005) the name of this material has been changed, and the previous code has been replaced with the following: S235JR, in this case the value numerical (235) no longer indicates traction but the minimum yield strength unit.
